Windows 7's Safe Mode helps you troubleshoot problems by rebooting the system with minimal drivers, services and programs running. If a startup program or recently installed driver is causing problems on your Dell Latitude, Safe Mode will prevent the program or driver from running, so you can uninstall it. Once you have corrected the problem in Safe Mode, you can reboot normally and resume normal business affairs.

1

Click the Start button, click the arrow next to "Shut Down" and select "Restart."

2

Hold "F8" as your Dell Latitude restarts. Safe Mode must be entered before the Windows logo appears on the screen. If you see the Windows logo, restart your computer and try again.

3

Press the arrow keys to select "Safe Mode" and press "Enter."
